“Iron Lady” of Britain, Margaret Thatcher dies at 87”

News from London :  Britain’s Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher who shaped generations of politics breathed her last on Monday following a stoke and died at age 87. 

She was a steely figure in the countries politics who people loved for her resolute action against unions and privatised industry in her days. Some worshipped her and some bitterly accused her for establishment in divide between Rich and the Poor. 

The resilient Former Prime Minister has led her conservatives to a hat trick of victories in between 1979 to 1990’s with the history of longest serving Prime Minister. It was her alliance with US President Ronald Reagan that rewarded with the Berlin Wall being torn down in 1989 being worried that a unified Germany would dominate Europe.

For 11 years in Power she brought reforms which were Love –Hate for the country men. She lost the plot when riots broke out for a new policy of “Poll Tax” was made. She unceremoniously pulled out of contest after this.

Ms Thatcher suffered a series of mild strokes in late 2001 and 2002, after which she cut back on appearances and cancelled her public speaking schedule.

Ms Thatcher’s decline into dementia was penned in an Oscar-winning film "The Iron Lady", with Meryl Streep portrayed her.  This Biographical showed a bewildered widow, the very lonely Iron Lady was left only with her memories.
